How to Get the Right Yoga Mat

Yoga mats properly support your body which is essential for doing successful yoga asanas.  Yoga mats prevent from injuries that can be caused by slippery surfaces. Yoga mats are used to practicing yoga which helps to create a barrier between yourself and the floor.
Yoga mats have 4 requirements:
1) they need to be safe
2) durable
3) comfortable
4) environment friendly.

Few important points at the time of buying a Yoga mat:-

Thickness - Standard thickness is 1/8 inch. It will be very thick about ¼ inch. In addition, there are less popular thicknesses, such as 1/16 inch for travel and more than ¼ inch, which are often found in Pilates and therapeutic type mats. It is smaller in thickness, the more stability, but less protection. If you have sensitive joints, you can use a thicker mat, so start with. Or you can just double the two regular mats to get started.

Material - PVC mats are cheap and easy. But if you are sensitive to the environment, then use a hybrid plastic such as PRE or TPE, or even recycled rubber that is completely natural. Another option is cotton. Cotton yoga mats have been used for a very long time and offer all the necessary protection and grip like any plastic or rubber mat. The rubber mats are also more sensitive to the environment.

Traction - The stickiest rugs are made of open cell rubber. Other mats have a structure on them for design and power. It also help you to maintain good grip on plastic, rubber and cotton mats.

Cost - If your mat is thicker or longer, it may be above the average price. The same goes for your rug made from natural and unnatural materials. Different types of Yoga mats have different prices.

Yoga is an activity that can bring you back to itself. Restoring your health, freedom of movement, relieving your body of pain and centering your heart and mind. It can offer you all this and more if that is what you are looking for.
